A Winder II is expected to assemble, test, troubleshoot, and repair large electric motor stators for use in commercial HVAC systems. The facility’s goal is to ensure effective production operations that are safe, efficient, and produce consistently high-quality products. Joining the Charlotte facility as a Winder II provides you with the opportunity to expand your knowledge, skills, and abilities while also working collaboratively as a part of a team.
This position is scheduled for 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Charlotte, NC manufacturing site. Benefits options available DAY 1, plus $150 allowance for safety shoes! At the Charlotte manufacturing facility, we believe in supporting our employee base through monthly enrichment activities including paid volunteer hours, lunch and learns, holiday events, and much more!
What you will do:
Independently perform winding, assembly, repair, and rework on a wide range of statorsComplete more complex winding and connection tasks within defined work scopeLearn and follow the proper sequence of events/actions to complete each assigned task/jobInspect, test, and troubleshoot stators during assembly and after windingVerify dimensional, electrical, and workmanship requirementsDiagnose and correct routine-to-moderately complex production issuesComplete all required documentation for production and quality recordsSupport process improvements, waste reduction, and efficient workflowAssist with equipment setup, routine maintenance, and minor repairsTrain or support Apprentices, Support Technicians, and Motor Winder I employeesCommunicate recurring technical, quality, or maintenance issues to leadership and update MDI boards as neededOperate CNC machinery to cut insulation paperManufacture coils using a SAMATIC coil winding machineWhat you will bring:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical or vocational training preferredLow voltage motor winding experience required; medium voltage motor winding experience preferredBasic understanding of CNC machinery preferredDemonstrated ability to work independently on standard and moderately complex jobsStrong understanding of all applicable environmental, health, and safety (EHS) rules required for the positionAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.Experience with testing, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair preferredAbility to safely lift and carry up to 40 lbs as required by job dutiesLean manufacturing experience preferredAnnual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:
