Job Summary

At KBR/Fort Hood, we're seeking a driven Motor Vehicle Mechanic candidate to join our Ground Operations Team to help support Aviation, Ground, and Maintenance Operations. Your contributions will be instrumental in efficiently executing ground vehicle maintenance for U.S. Army Tactical vehicles and Foreign Military Tactical vehicles to include the associated rolling stock. Roles and Responsibilities

The Motor Vehicle Mechanic will repair, rebuild, or overhaul major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, and tractors.  Work involves the following: Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required Replacing work or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or engine parts,  Ground Maintenance work will also include grinding, adjusting valves, brake systems, changing tires, rebuilding carburetors, and overhauling transmissions. Must follow a maintenance schedule and check fluids. Requires rounded training and experience. Must be a good problem solver, mechanically inclined, pay attention to detail, have an ability to multi-task, properly communicate, and follow detailed instructions. Conduct other duties as assigned by the Lead Motor Vehicle Mechanic. Must be able to work different shifts as required, be able to travel as needed, and be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required.  Must be able to move safely about in a maintenance environment (open bay and outdoors) and be able to sit, stand, squat, and walk for extended periods of time. The candidate will be exposed to extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, rain) and will be subject to loud noises, exhaust fumes, and dust. 

Basic Qualifications

High School Diploma2-3 years’ experience as a Motor Vehicle Mechanic Must have a Texas Driver’s License Must be able to communicate succinctly with customer and client No clearance required Must be able to lift to 25 pounds or more Must be willing to travel between North Fort Cavazos and West Fort Cavazos daily Must provide own tools / toolbox 

Preferred Qualifications

Class A CDL with X Endorsement  EPA 608 certified
