ASO is hiring a Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Technical Inspector to support the EAGLE LSS contract in Fort Hood, TX. Responsibilities The Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Technical Inspector repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major assemblies of internal combustion automobiles, buses, trucks, or tractors. Diagnosing the source of trouble and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken parts such as piston rings, bearings, or other engine parts; grinding and adjusting valves; rebuilding carburetors; overhauling transmissions; and repairing fuel injection, lighting, and ignition systems. In general, the work of the Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Technical Inspector requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions. Knowledgeable in U.S. Army maintenance procedures and AR 750-1. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening. Ability to receive a favorable Tier-1 Investigation result. Ability to bring and use own tools. High School Diploma / GED. Physical requirements include (but are not limited to) the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.
