Job Overview:
Provides continuous surveillance to Cardiac Telemetry Monitors to identify and report significant changes in cardiac rhythms. Supports patient safety and clinical communication in centralized monitoring environments.
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
Completion of orientation and dysrhythmia interpretation competency is required
Job Responsibilities:
Continuously observes and interprets cardiac rhythms from telemetry monitors.
Record rhythm strips at designated intervals and notify nursing staff of changes.
Maintain monitor station cleanliness and function; report equipment issues.
Document rhythm interpretations and maintain accurate logbooks.
Communicate clearly and promptly with unit nursing staff.
Ability to interpret dysrhythmias accurately.
Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Effective verbal and written communication.
Able to multitask and respond calmly in emergencies.
Proficient in EMR systems and basic computer functions.
