Job Description

Database Design & Implementation – Design and implement database solutions using Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB best practices. Create data models, schemas, and database management processes tailored to application needs.Performance Optimization - Monitor and tune the performance of databases, including queries and indexing strategies. Implement best practices for data partitioning, sharding, and replication to ensure high availability and scalability.Security & Compliance - Implement security measures to protect sensitive data in compliance with relevant regulations. Monitor access control and audit logs to ensure data security practices are followed.Backup & Recovery – Establish and manage backup and recovery processes for database environments to ensure data integrity and availability.Data Migration & Integration - Plan and execute data migration strategies from on-premises databases or other cloud systems to Azure Cosmos DB and MongoDB. Integrate databases with existing applications and services, ensuring seamless data flow.Scripting - Proficiency in scripting languages such as Terraform, Python, Bash, JavaScript (Node.js), Ansible, Puppet, or similar for managing MongoDB deployments for automation tasks.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related fieldCertifications in Azure (e.g., Azure Database Administrator Associate) or MongoDB (e.g., MongoDB Certified Developer)7+ years of experience in database engineering or related roles, with a focus on Azure cloud, Cosmos DB, and MongoDBFamiliarity with Azure services such as Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, or Azure Data Factory is a plus

Technical skills

Primary skills: Azure-Cosmos-MongoDB & Scripting (Ansible, MongoDB Shell, Python, PowerShell, Terraform) Secondary skills: Oracle, SQL-Server & PostgreSQLProven experience with Cosmos DB/MongoDB scaling across data centers and/or in-depth understanding of HA strategies, including replica sets and shardingAnalyze SQL query plans, suggest and implement solutions to support developers in development and production environments. Performance troubleshooting - performance tuning and optimization, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, Analyze SQL query plans, suggest and implement solutions to support developers

Collaboration 

Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement database solutions that align with business objectives.Provide 24/7 support for critical database systems and assist with troubleshooting complex database issues.
