Manpower Engineering is partnering with a leader in the Medical Device industry for a Molding Engineer. **Job Title: Molding Engineer** **Location: Arden Hills, MN (100% onsite)** **Pay: $40 - $60/hour + DOE** **Duration: 6+ month, Contract to Hire** **Position Summary** The Molding Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and troubleshooting molding processes to ensure high-quality plastic components. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency, reduce defects, and enhance overall manufacturing performance. **Key Responsibilities** + Develop and optimize injection molding processes for new and existing products. + Conduct mold tooling design reviews and collaborate with engineering, operations, and quality teams. + Troubleshoot molding defects and implement corrective actions to improve product quality. + Participate in the development of **Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA)** and assign special product characteristics. + Maintain documentation and ensure compliance with industry standards such as **ISO and FDA regulations** . + Work with suppliers to develop quality system planning and execution. + Monitor and report on molding process improvements, including cycle time efficiency and scrap reduction. + Provide technical leadership and mentorship to process technicians and operators. + Ensure proper system documentation for tooling acceptance and release to production. + Collaborate with customers to resolve issues and provide updates on new projects. **Qualifications** + **Education:** Bachelor's or Master's degree in **Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field** . + **Experience:** 3-5 years of practical work experience in Validation + Strong technical background in **injection molding processing, tooling, equipment, materials, and quality control** is preferred + Knowledge of **scientific molding principles** and ability to implement process improvements is preferred + Proficiency in **Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)** and statistical analysis tools. **Benefits:** **Upon completion of waiting period consultants are eligible for:** **• Medical and Prescription Drug Plans** **• Dental Plan** **• Vision Plan** **• Health Savings Account** **• Health Flexible Spending Account** **• Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account** **• Supplemental Life Insurance** **• Short Term and Long-Term Disability Insurance** **• Accrued Sick Pay** **• 401(k)** **If this is a role that interests you and you’d like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
