A typical day:

Working with the Tool Room Sr. Manager, this position is responsible for the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of molds, mold components, jigs, fixtures, and specialised machinery. The role requires expertise in diagnosing and resolving mold-related issues, ensuring efficient performance and functionality. This position also involves collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams to support production needs, maintain high-quality standards, and drive continuous improvement in tooling processes.

What Contribution Will I Have? A Typical Day:

Assist with the assembly and disassembly of molds, perform maintenance, and repair of moldsOperate a variety of manual and CNC machinery, such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and EDM equipmentRead and interpret technical drawings and specificationsPerform measurements using precision instruments (e.g., micrometers, verniers, pin gauges)Maintain a clean and safe working environmentSupport quality control processes and documentationParticipate in college and a training center as components of the apprenticeship programFollow all company safety policies and procedures

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Good verbal and written communication skills requiredSelf-motivated with the ability to work independently and handle complex projects with minimal supervisionProficient in problem-solving abilities

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Ability to stand for extended periodsCapable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 poundsOutstanding manual dexterity, fine motor skills, and detailed touch required for completing intricate work without compromising valuable moldsStrong visual acuity to interpret blueprints and conduct detailed inspections

Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay range estimated for this position based in New York is $14.48–$21.72.
