Modular Plans Examiner - Part-time -Work from home Intertek is searching for a Modular Plans Examiner to join our Building & Construction team in a Remote setting. The Modular Plans Examiner is responsible to manage client accounts, complete plan review of residential, modular consulting and commercial buildings, modular components, and perform other related QA/QC tasks in general accordance with set forth standards and regulations to ensure compliance with city, state and federal laws and regulations. What you will do: + Examine modular building plans and specifications for compliance with current codes (building, electrical, fire protection, accessibility, energy conservation, etc.) as required of third-party agencies. + Manage client accounts and plan review workflows. + Occasionally inspect modular buildings for compliance with current codes (building, electrical, fire protection, accessibility, energy conservation, etc.) as required of third-party agencies. + Consult with manufacturers, consultants, engineers, and others in matters related to plans, specifications, materials, equipment, and the methods. + Performs related work as assigned What it takes to be successful in this role: International Code Council Certifications + Commercial Plumbing Inspector (required) + Residential Plumbing Inspector (required) + Commercial Building Inspector (required) + Plumbing Inspector (required) + Commercial Mechanical Inspector (required) + Residential Mechanical Inspector (required) + Mechanical Inspector (required) + Residential Electrical Inspector (required) + Building Plans Examiner (desired) + Building Inspector (required) + Mechanical Plans Examiner (highly desirable) + Electrical Plans Examiner (highly desirable) + Plumbing Plans Examiner (highly desirable) Optional Florida Licenses + Standard Modular Inspection (SMI) license (ability to obtain license required) + Standard Modular Plans Examiner (SMP) license (ability to obtain license required) Job Requirements + High School Diploma or GED, Architectural, Construction Management or Engineering Degree preferred + Technical knowledge of building construction + 5 to 8 years of industry experience, preferred + Field experience or strong interest in working onsite + Ability to read and understand architectural drawings and specifications + Ability to perform office tasks and physical labor tasks + Ability to perform work from ladders, boom-lifts, scaffolds, roofs, etc. + Ability to efficiently work on projects independently and in a team environment + Excellent organizational and project management skills + Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines + Strong technical writing and communication skills + Consistent and professional interaction and communication with clients and project team + Ability to travel outside local area, depending on local work load and project locations + Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required) + Ability to pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening + Fluent in English for the safe and effective performance of the job. + Weekly travel throughout the US Intertek: Total Quality.
