Overview The role will be responsible for performing simulations using FEM and DEM techniques and providing insights that influence the design and development of our products. This role will conduct FEA to check structural performance of the product and DEM to check stability and integrity of the product using a variety of software tools. The role is further responsible for Design optimization and Work closely with design engineers to perform optimization studies and provide insights on load distribution and structural integrity using FEA Responsibilities Deliver modeling and simulation projects using general purpose and specialized numerical software. Design and develop innovative experiments to validate and improve models. Support senior simulation engineers on assigned simulation tasks including CAD creation, CAD cleaning, meshing, pre-processing, post processing, creating visuals of data Work with external partners, software vendor, university, engineering firms, to develop technologies needed to fulfil PepsiCo need Qualifications Ph.D. with simulation concentration and 4 + years of work experience, MS with simulation concentration and 6+ years' experience Strong background in engineering physics and structural mechanics. Hands-on experience with at least one commercial finite element method software package – ANSYS Mechanical, ABAQUS, Nastran, COMSOL Experience in designing and conducting physical testing required to formulate and/or calibrate models, i.e., mechanical testing, thermal measurements, high speed imaging, etc. Experience with Python is a plus. Experience in food/beverage processing & packaging engineering a plus. Strong project management and communication skills. Ability to collaborate with internal and external partners in a global setup.
