MAU is hiring a Model Shop Technician for our client in Conyers, GA. As a Model Shop Technician, you will build manufacturing fixtures, support tooling and prototype development, and assist engineering with new product samples. This is a direct-hire opportunity.
Benefits Package 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Life insurance Paid time off Shift Information Monday to Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM Required Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent 5+ years of related experience preferred, but adaptive candidates will be trained Preferred Education and Experience Prior experience in a similar role Background in model making or pattern making General Requirements Proficiency in working with wood, metal, or plastic materials General mechanical aptitude Ability to read blueprints Basic knowledge of welding Ability to design simple fixtures Essential Functions Build CNC and assembly fixtures for welding, cutting, routing, gluing, and bending plastic parts Prepare and mount patterns for sample shots or foundry castings Prep tools and fixtures before each production run Perform minor tool repairs and routine tool maintenance Support the Engineering department with sample production and design validation Make prototypes to blueprint specifications based on provided instructions Follow all safety policies and plant rules Collaborate effectively with all levels of plant personnel Maintain a clean and organized work environment Perform other duties as required Working Conditions Work occurs both on the manufacturing floor and in a designated model shop area Environment may include exposure to dust, heat, and cold PPE must be worn per company and government safety standards Physical Demands Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods Ability to lift objects up to 50 lbs
