As Prime Video has grown, we've increased the depth and breadth of video products we support, with a corresponding increase in the associated size and complexity of our engineering activity and the load on our services. Our goal is to adapt our architecture to maintain and improve our velocity of delivery for customers in the face of these changes, and for our services to be on and error-free 24/7, especially for high-profile, exclusive content. Our team is responsible for Prime Video Linear experiences across the mobile clients - iOS, Android and Apple TV. We are coders and crafts people who care as much about how things look and feel as to the way they function and perform. We seek diverse perspectives and create accessible experiences for all people to enjoy. We strive to move fast for customers but prioritize long term decisions that will scale as we grow.

We are looking for strong developers who are passionate about delivering excellent, digital media experiences to our customers. It is an opportunity to work with Principal and senior engineers to build simple and elegant software solutions, customer-centric products, cutting-edge features, and getting solutions in front of our millions of customers.
• Strong background in OO design.
• Solid time mgmt./communication skills (both written and orally)
• Ability to support multiple projects at a time.
• Brings strong opinions but loosely held. (Lets best idea rise to the top.)
• Comfort adapting to new development environments and changing business requirements, learning new systems, creating reliable/maintainable code, and finding creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems.
What you’ll do:
• Own architecture and feature development for our Android/iOS and Apple TV apps and middle-tier services.
• Partner with other engineers to ideate, design, and build scalable software solutions.
• Drive test and release automations to increase system reliability and speed to market.
• Collaborate with product managers to influence decisions that deliver customer value.
• Shape the future of Amazon’s mobile video platform.
About the team
Our team focuses on customer-facing, high-visibility, high-impact projects to improve the customer experience for Linear content (24/7 Television or broadcast programming). As a relatively new team, there is very little oncall work, operational burden, or tech debt to deal with, so we can focus on innovation. This is an opportunity to build from the ground up. We are not saddled with any legacy tech, and can choose the best options as we build.
PV Linear provides the opportunity to design and build new full stack features end-to-end. Our technology focuses on real time event based native AWS services and emerging front end platforms including TV and VR.
Our team has access to multiple PEs and SDE IIIs within Linear as well as across Prime Video to regularly engage with. They provide mentorship and support for career progression of our team members.
