The Mobile Equipment Operator is responsible for performing cemetery caretaking and interment-related tasks required for the operations of the cemetery. Heavy equipment operated includes, but is not limited to, a Backhoe, 2wd 580m, Excavator, 355R, and a TC35A NFD W/Loader. This cemetery consists of thirty (30) acres of land with a minimum of 12,122 grave sites, which will primarily serve deceased veterans and qualified dependents.
Minimum Qualifications
Two years of experience in mobile equipment operations.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
As a Mobile Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for performing cemetery caretaking and interment-related tasks required for the operations of the cemetery. In this role you will:
+ Read and interpret cemetery grave site layout maps, ensuring proper placement of grave sites and marker placement.
+ Operate mobile equipment to accomplish transportation, maintenance, and dig graves at the facility.
+ Dig graves as required and remove excess dirt and shape graves.
+ Clean headstones using chemical solutions and a hand brush while wearing gloves and an apron.
+ Level holes in roads, walks, grounds, and in renovating gravesites.
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: The position will be filled by a probational appointment or promotion of a permanent state employee.
Domicile: Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, LA (Vernon Parish)
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
