Role Overview:

As a Tyre Fitter, you will play a crucial role in the maintenance and upkeep of heavy earthmoving and mining equipment by ensuring the efficient removal and fitting of rims and wheel assemblies. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the operational excellence of Barrick Gold's mining operations.

The ideal candidate will have:

Certificate II in Automotive Mechanical (Tyre Fitting Heavy) – This is a must. RIISAM210D – Remove and fit wheel assemblies – This is a must. RIISAM211D – Remove, repair, and refit tyres and tubes – This is a must. Other industry-recognized training in heavy Equipment Tyre Fitting (e.g., Klinge, Rema, Dunlop, Goodyear, Otraco) – This is a must Minimum of 5 years experience working in the mining industry – Highly desirable  Experience with 5-piece rim assemblies – Highly desirable. Proficiency in operating tyre handling equipment – Highly desirable Current Papua New Guinea (PNG) Driver's License – Highly desirable

Role Responsibilities:

Remove and fit rims and wheel assemblies on heavy earthmoving and mining equipment according to established procedures and safety standards. Perform regular tyre inflation checks and tread depth measurements to ensure optimal performance and safety of equipment. Collaborate with the maintenance team to forecast tyre requirements and plan maintenance schedules accordingly. Adhere to Barrick Gold's safety protocols and procedures at all times. Maintain accurate records of tyre maintenance activities and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate supervisor. Actively participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge in tyre fitting and maintenance practices.
