Job Summary:

The Mobile Career Center Coach will coordinate services driving Goodwill Mobile Career Center (E350 Van) that will address barriers to education, training, and employment. Coaches provide ongoing career counseling and support to the individual as needed to help that individual meet their goals. They also will use the Mobile Career Center to work with others in the community to ensure participants have access to valuable resources and find work. This position does the important mission work for the organization by assisting program participants to develop job-seeking skills, help them find/retain employment and reach their education or training goals.

Job Description

Essential Functions

Scheduling appointments and ongoing relationships with individuals, community and business partners seeking employment and/or training to improve current job opportunities for employment.Schedule and bring Career Services to the 48 counties supported by Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee. Supports program participants, community and business partners to help them identify training/educational needs, develop/enhance their soft skills, and assist them with resources to help them get employed.Building and maintaining relationships with community employment service providers and/or community resources that assist staff and eligibility workers to address families’ needs and goals. Work with other departments/organizations to create resources for these events. Work with clients to assist them with their various appointments to help them achieve their predetermined goals. This will also include attending community events and require travel to these functions. Interacts respectfully and professionally with all personnel employed with Goodwill’s and other professionals with whom there is contact in the community.  Maintains schedule of Mobile Career Center at least 2 to 3 weeks out.Assists with maintenance of the center databases including entering accurate information in client and employer databases, including Caseworthy CRM, and running and downloading reports. Including records of clients and business/community partners served by the Mobile Career Center.Be aware and bring to the attention of management any issue pertaining to the Mobile Career Center and follow all policies and procedures pertaining to the Mobile Career Center and use of company vehicles. Physical ability to lift, load and unload equipment up to 50 lbs.Be aware of scheduled maintenance that may be needed.Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Skills

Education

Associate's degree in related field required or 2 years equivalent workforce experience.  

Experience

1 - 3 years of relevant experience required.  Minimum of 2 years office experience is required.

Knowledge and Skills

Able to deal with all situations calmly and positively.   Able to proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Suite.  Able to do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). Able to learn new processes quickly and possess strong organizational skills. Strong written and oral communication skills including the ability to be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees.Strong customer service, relationship building, and interpersonal skills.Strong time-management skills and must be able to pay attention to detail.

Certifications and Licenses

A vaild Driver's License to operate company vehicles, specifically the Goodwill Mobile Career Center van. Local travel is required for this role.

Preferred Education / Experience /Knowledge & Skills / Certifications & License

Bachelor's degree preferred.Office management and/or placement experience.
