About You

\n\n2+ years’ experience as an Assistant Restaurant Manager in a 5-star hospitality or restaurant setting; shipboard experience is a plus.\nStrong focus on guest satisfaction, with a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and high hygiene standards.\nProven ability to lead and inspire multi-cultural teams.\nSolid understanding of public health regulations, especially US Health and FDA standards.\n\n

Role Overview

\n

As a member of our Mississippi Food & Beverage team, you will oversee restaurant operations, coaching team members, and ensuring exceptional service aligned with Viking’s STAR Service Standards.

\n

 

\n\nReports to: Restaurant Manager\nRotation: 9 weeks onboard / 3 weeks off (subject to operational needs)\nWork Schedule: 7 days a week, 10-14 hours a day\nCompensation: daily rate: $260\nCabin: Single room, shared bathroom\n\n


Role Expectations

\n\nOrganize daily operations: assign staff stations, support menu presentations, and coordinate food & beverage events.\nCoordinate in real-time with the kitchen to ensure accurate and timely food delivery.\nEnsure smooth guest experience: manage reservations, seating arrangements, and special dietary needs.\nCollaborate with the Executive Chef, Galley, and Bar teams; oversee monthly inventory and durable goods orders.\nMaintain high standards in grooming, PPE compliance, and property care while fostering a respectful team culture.\nIdentify service improvement opportunities, reduce equipment loss, and uphold cleanliness protocols.\nLead daily pre-shift briefings to align the team on service expectations and guest pr Handle guest complaints with empathy and accountability, ensuring timely resolution and follow-up.\nStay informed about itinerary activities, contribute to restaurant KPIs, manage pest control logs, and monitor attendance systems.\nRepresent Viking’s brand with professionalism, punctuality, and a flexible, solution-oriented mindset.\nAdditional responsibilities may be assigned based on operational needs.\n\n

Mandatory Requirements

\n\nU.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card) to work onboard the ship, as required by federal regulations\nAbility to satisfactorily pass a pre-employment drug test. Viking Mississippi is a drug-free and alcohol-free workplace\nMust be 21+ years old, physically fit and in good health to meet the demands of an intense shipboard role; must be able to carry heavy items and stand, kneel, and bend for prolonged periods of time\nViking Cruises is an At-Will Employer.
