Loulo Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Mine General Foreman to join and grow our team. This role is responsible to lead and coordinate underground mining operations to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant achievement of production targets.

Responsibilities
Comply with Barrick’s established health and safety policies, procedures, practices and Occupational Health and Safety Acts.
Visibly practice safety leadership through leading by example.
Actively ensure a safe environment for yourself, your peers and local communities through regular communication and due diligence.
Promptly report and correct unsafe acts and conditions.
Actively ensure that fatal risks are understood and critical controls are maintained.
Ensure all mining activities adhere to mine safety regulations, company policies, and local laws.
Conduct workplace inspections to identify and mitigate hazards such as unstable ground, poor ventilation, and equipment malfunctions.
Investigate incidents, near misses, or equipment failures and reporting findings to management.
Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforcing safety protocols.
Coordinate and facilitate effective interaction and communication between the various Mine Foremen at Loulo–Gounkoto operations.
Ensure the safe and efficient dispatching of equipment between sites.
Monitor and follow up on Mine Foremen performance, ensuring alignment with operational objectives and safety standards.
Coordinate and track roster planning in collaboration with the respective Production Managers.
Coordinate and track the flight (in and out) in collaboration with the respective Production Managers.
Provide regular reports and operational updates to the Underground (UG) Manager and Production Manager.
Ensure that the seismic system for ground monitoring is properly installed and protected at Loulo–Gounkoto.
Monitor worker performance, provide coaching, and enforce company policies.
Ensure that pre‑shift meetings include work plans, safety updates, and equipment status.
Ensure proper use of mining equipment, including jumbo drills, Solo, Cable bolter, LHDs, haul trucks and IT’s.
Troubleshoot operational challenges and make real-time decisions to keep production on track.
Verify that ventilation, dewatering, and power systems are functioning correctly.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure all machinery is in working order and addressing breakdowns promptly.
Prepare shift reports detailing production progress, equipment status, safety incidents, and any operational challenges.
Make quick, informed decisions to resolve unexpected issues underground.
Qualification Requirements
Relevant Mining qualification.
Experience and Skills Requirements
Minimum of 10 years’ underground mining experience.
Mining operations experience, including mine planning, mining equipment selection and performance, and contractor management.
Commitment to safety, including a commitment to a positive safety culture.
Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication (oral and written), interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.
Must be team oriented and possess the ability to develop and foster a team environment.
Problem Solving, decision making and troubleshooting Skills.
Understanding of budgeting and performance management.
