**Job Title: Millwright Mechanic** **Job Description** Join our team as a Research Lab Mechanic where you will have the opportunity to work with advanced mechanical systems and equipment. You will utilize your expertise in operating facility machinery and perform intricate welding and fabrication tasks. **Responsibilities** + Operate facility overhead cranes, bucket trucks, man-lifts, forklifts, and portable cranes. + Provide rigging for lifting equipment and materials using lifting straps, chain hoists, and come-alongs. + Weld using various methods and materials including oxy-acetylene, AC-DC electric arc, M.I.G., and T.I.G. + Operate large mechanical tools such as drill presses, power hacksaws, band saws, shears, and grinders. + Lay out and build complex tubing systems with flaring machines and tubing benders. + Disassemble, repair, reassemble, and verify various types of valves, valve operators, and pressure regulators. + Operate hydraulic systems and high-pressure gas systems, including gas tubers and pressure reduction stations. + Work with environmental test chambers, mass spectrometer leak detectors, and vacuum systems. + Assist in the installation and operation of research test packages in various test facilities. + Fabricate, install, operate, and maintain mechanical control test panels and special test equipment. + Perform general maintenance on mechanical vacuum pumping equipment and cryogenic systems. + Inspect and evaluate mechanical equipment and facility operating systems, making maintenance recommendations. **Essential Skills** + At least 5 years of mechanical work experience in roles such as Mechanic, Auto Mechanic, Machine Building, A&P Mechanic, or Maintenance Technician. + Ability to read and interpret multiple blueprints. + Experience with various fabricating equipment including mills, lathes, grinders, and drill presses. + Proficiency in working with hydraulics and pneumatics including installation, troubleshooting, repair, and build-ups. + Possession of a journeyman's card, OJT hours logged, or relevant associates or military education/training. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience in fabrication, sheet metal work, pipe fitting, welding inspection, and mechanical troubleshooting. + Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of hydraulic systems. **Why Work Here?** Working here offers a unique opportunity to be part of a team supporting NASA's advanced research and development projects. Openings are available in the Propulsion Systems Lab and Wind Tunnel. This role involves working with cutting-edge technology in a dynamic and innovative environment. **Job Type & Location** This position is based out of Cleveland, Ohio. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $30.83 - $32.39/hr.
