About the Position 
The Millwright, under the direction of the Maintenance & Facilities Manager, will primarily be responsible for preventative maintenance, repair and facility improvement. This position will respond to maintenance service requests. This role will also support continuous improvement efforts with the team and promote healthy, respectful communications.  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment at all times 

Recommend equipment replacement / upgrades to Meet Reliability centered Maintenance and Condition Based Maintenance 

Scope includes develop & propose upgrades to improve machine reliability 

Installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of all plant and production mechanical systems & machinery 

Read blueprints and schematics to determinework procedures 

Constructs foundation for machines; align machines and equipment; Install, dismantleor move machinery and equipment 

Assemble and install equipment such as shafts, conveyors, pulley assemblies, gear boxes and coupling gears 

Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with all requirements (Lock-out, Fall arrest, Confined Space, etc) 

Troubleshoot and/or repair/replace motors, pumps, blowers and air compressors, etc 

Perform preventative maintenance on all online tooling 

"Take ownership" of equipment  

Support off shift work as required. 

Work with the engineering team to develop new processes, tooling and fixtures 

Participate in pre-production machinery/tooling tryouts 

Fabrication and assembly of replacement parts and prototype part to support production and engineering 

 

Position Requirements: 

Must be proactive in identifying mechanical wear, misalignment, or potential failure points during routine inspections. Able to carry out preventative and corrective maintenance efficiently. 

Strong manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude for working with hand and power tools, including precision work such as alignment, fitting, and mechanical assembly. 

Ability to work independently, using mechanical knowledge and available documentation to diagnose and resolve equipment issues. Must be able to act quickly and safely in urgent breakdown scenarios. 

Excellent communication skills to interpret operator-reported issues, collaborate with other trades, and explain completed repairs or recommended improvements. 

Skilled in reading technical blueprints, mechanical schematics, and maintenance documentation. Maintains clear, detailed records of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and part replacement. 

 

Required Qualifications (Must-have) 

Millwright certification, working towards it or equivalent experience

Basic computer skills 

Ability to communicate clearly and organizational skills 

Strong interpersonal skills & ability to work in a team environment.   


Experience(Required): 

Previous maintenance experience in an industrial manufacturing facility 

Hands-on experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including troubleshooting, maintenance, and component replacement (e.g., valves, cylinders, regulators, hoses) 

Familiarity with reading and interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic schematics 

Experience working with compressed air systems, actuators, and process piping related to facility equipment 

 

Additional Experience(Preferred):  

Experience in a machine shop and/or sheet metal fabrication shop  

Copper Soldering, Welding, and Fabrication experience in an industrial setting
