Military Fellowship Program: Avionics Technician

SNC's Military Fellowship Program partners with programs such as SkillBridge and Hiring Our Heroes to provide fellowship opportunities to service members transitioning to the civilian workforce. These fellowships include up to six months of on-the-job industry training for eligible service members. During this time, participants gain valuable work experience in the civilian sector and build professional networks as they prepare for their transition to full-time civilian work.

NOTE: You must be currently serving on active duty to be eligible for this fellowship program. This program is not for veterans who have already separated from the military.

As an Avionics Technician, you will use your skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance according to FCC, FAA and company policies and regulations. You'll assist with installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing avionics components, and maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Currently serving as active duty military and be eligible to participate in the DoD SkillBridge programHigh school diploma or GED equivalentA higher-level degree may substitute for experienceRelated experience may be considered in lieu of required educationBasic understanding of applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings Familiarity with avionics installation toolingExposure to wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installationExperience with soldering and crimping techniques

Qualifications We Prefer:

Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROLBasic understanding of spectrometer, Oscilloscope and/or Pitot static equipmentBackground in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $22.95 - $31.56. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
