Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is adding a Midwife to the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi and North Central Bronx. Our dedicated Labor and Delivery facilities and resources give our midwives the tools they need to provide high-quality, holistic healthcare for their patients before, during, and after pregnancy. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center and North Central Bronx Hospital (NCB) has 213 licensed beds. To this day, Jacobi and NCB remain respected leaders in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health.

Opportunity Details:
Provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal, interconceptional, and gynecological care. Plan and provide health care for women and individuals across the lifespan, and newborn infants. Establish a complete database concerning the client through history taking, physical examination, and ordering/interpreting appropriate laboratory data/tests. Provide guidance and education for clients and families concerning health maintenance, admission and discharge, labor management, and physical and emotional support. Manage labor and birth, including delivery of the newborn. Utilize medication and performs procedures. Provide immediate and the follow-up care of the newborn infant, including circumcision and ongoing assessment and follow-up with the postpartum family. Seek medical consultation, co-management and/or referral for clients with medical, obstetric, or gynecologic co-morbidities. Provide contraceptive services and guidance, and evaluation and treatment for minor gynecological conditions.
