Overview We are looking for a bold and ambitious Midweight Copywriter with a proven record of creating great copy for strong conceptual ideas. Someone with the intelligence to think, challenge, and push things into unexpected places. As a Midweight Copywriter working for Saatchi & Saatchi Wellness, you will join our growing and vibrant Creative department, a team with extremely high standards and ambition where every job is seen as an opportunity to excel. Partnering with an Art Director, you will form a creative team that produces outstanding through-the-line communication ideas that change how people see the world. This is a role for someone who thrives on collaboration to craft campaigns that stand out and deliver results, all while maintaining high creative standards in line with Saatchi’s legacy of impactful advertising. Responsibilities Work in partnership with an Art Director to create innovative, channel-neutral ideas that answer the client's brief Collaborate closely with other creatives and designers to develop concepts, content and solutions that respond to a variety of client briefs Develop concepts that execute the ideas, and present these both internally and externally until a preferred route is agreed between agency and client Prepare copy platforms, draft outlines, and create final copy for offline and online content, accompanied by mandated supporting material or documentation i.e. marked-up references Direct the execution of the creative work, supervising the work of creative partners such as voiceover artists and film makers to realise your creative vision Understand the creative strategy in order to produce appropriate solutions Manage and work independently under tight deadlines and while juggling multiple projects Establish brand priorities and contribute the overall agency goals Maintain all archives and storage of files / documentation Maintain suitable quality control levels within the team and wider agency Sign off work at all stages of development, alongside creative director and/or ACDs, taking responsibility for accuracy Brief projects or tasks into Medical Writers as necessary, maintaining close contact with ongoing work to ensure thorough understanding of creative idea as well as consistency of tone, messaging and referencing Supply marked up supporting references to substantiate claims made in the copy for approval by clients Keep all internal stakeholders informed of the progress of projects, especially if any issues arise that relate to budget or timelines Demonstrate a good understanding of clients' business needs so that you can propose appropriate creative solutions In client meetings, take ownership of all written elements, confidently participating in discussions relating to creative work, in particular when talking about the creative idea and the copy Work with cross-functional agency teams to develop the creative content of proposals and pitches, ensuring the creative content is aligned with the main directions Qualifications Proven experience working as a Copywriter within an advertising agency (creative teams welcome) A broad knowledge of the various media channels available including but not limited to press advertising, direct marketing, radio, TV and digital An appreciation of writing for digital media (SEO; delivering a story effectively through digital media, etc.) A good understanding of the internal workings of the agency and the processes of implementation Healthcare experience and an understanding of the ABPI Code of Practice is advantageous, as well as being knowledgeable about ethically accepted vocabulary, phrases and messaging in the pharmaceutical industry Whoever you are and wherever you come from, you will take responsibility and ownership; generate novel ideas and solutions; proactively question the status quo; pay great attention to detail; balance speed and accuracy in delivery of tasks; get involved early; and deliver work that you can stand behind not only because you believe in it, but because you know why others will, too.
