Job Summary
The primary function of the Histologic Technician is the preparation of microscopic sections of human\rtissue for evaluation by a Pathologist. Specimens include surgical, autopsy, bone marrow and cell blocks.\rThe process includes embedding, microtomy and routine staining of all specimens submitted by the\rPathologist/Pathologists' Assistant.

Essential Functions
Embeds and properly orients surgical, autopsy and cytology cell block tissue for microtomy.Cuts routine tissue specimens according to defined protocols.Performs routine and special staining of microscopic tissue sections.Assists the pathologists with OR frozen section cases.
QualificationsRequired Associate's Degree CRT-Histotechnician, Certified (HT) - ASCP American Society for Clinical Pathology 1 Year required
