The Middleware Engineering Lead serves as a Lead Infrastructure Architect, responsible for designing and developing IT infrastructure solutions to address complex business challenges. This position ensures alignment with enterprise architecture standards and works on initiatives of moderate to high complexity and scope.
The Lead Infrastructure Architect performs technical planning, architecture development and modification of specifications. Develops specifications for new IT infrastructure products and service offerings. Assesses the compatibility and integration of products/services proposed as standards in order to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

**Required Qualifications:**
+ Minimum of 8 years of IT experience in infrastructure or middleware platforms.
+ At least 5 years of hands-on middleware administration experience with two or more of the following: IIS, JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat, or WebLogic, on Linux, UNIX, and Windows platforms.
+ Proficient in deploying web and enterprise applications in both clustered and non-clustered environments.
+ Skilled in managing SSL digital certificates and troubleshooting Java errors.
+ Experience working with load balancers.

**Project Management:**
+ Demonstrated experience managing project delivery, timelines, and risk mitigation in partnership with the Associate Director of Middleware.
**Communication:**
+ Strong capability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
**Analytical Problem-Solving:**
+ Effective at diagnosing issues, identifying root causes, and delivering robust solutions.
**Security & Compliance:**
+ Ensures adherence to Humana’s information security policies and compliance with relevant U.S. federal and Puerto Rico employment laws.
+ Knowledge of CIS hardening for middleware tools and ability to provide guidance on policy and best practices, including writing SOPs for application upgrades and patch installations.
**Continuous Improvement:**
+ Advocates for innovation and adoption of emerging technologies and methodologies.
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Master’s degree in a technical field.
+ PMP or PMI certification.
+ Experience configuring data sources for various vendor databases.
+ Background in enterprise-wide, large-scale environments.
+ Proficiency with Ansible and/or PowerShell scripting.
**Additional Information**

At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.
Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.
Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.
Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.
Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.
Travel: While this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana's offices for training or meetings may be required.

**Pay Range**
The compensation range below reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full time (40 hours per week) employment at the time of posting. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc.
$129,300 - $177,800 per year
This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan. This incentive opportunity is based upon company and/or individual performance.
