Job Summary Job Summary

Qualifications: Previous Volleyball coaching/playing experience preferred, with emphasis on developmental and beginner athletes Knowledge of Volleyball rules and regulations (our league has modified rules for the middle school level) Instruct and model appropriate techniques, rules, strategies, and playing tactics Supervise and conduct practices and games safely teach good sportsmanship, team cooperation, team communication, work ethic and responsibility to fellow team members ability to communicate, verbally and in writing, with players, parents, and athletic directors work with Athletic Directors to monitor athletes’ school attendance, grades, and behavior Manage uniforms, equipment, and school facilities in a responsible manner First Aid/CPR/AED certification required Essential Duties and Responsibilities The Boys JV Volleyball Coach is responsible for managing the JV Volleyball A & B team. This includes, but is not limited to: Promoting good sportsmanship, team cooperation and communication to athletes teaching fundamental volleyball techniques, rules, strategies, and playing tactics Holding and running practices: ~1.5 hrs from 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM on non-game weekdays Coaching 10 Volleyball games (See dates below) Must have a valid California driver's license and be able to drive to and from visiting schools. Practices and Games: Season dates: October 9th - December 3rd Practices are held on non-game days: typically Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:00 - 4:30 PM (some flexibility on later start time, if needed). Games are held on most Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:20 PM - 5:45 PM Dates: Oct. 21, 23, 28, 30 Nov. 4, 6, 12, 13, 18, 20 Finals: Dec. 3rd (TBD, top 2 teams only) Stipend: $1,500 Here is the link to apply https://unionsd.schoolspring.com?jobid=5374658
