Part Time, Non-Exempt Position Direct Supervisor: Program Director About the School: The French-American School of Silicon Valley (FASSV) provides a multi-lingual, well-rounded education for its students. Essential Duties: Plan and teach a challenging course of study in a developmentally-appropriate manner, with an emphasis on differentiating instruction and the effective use of assessments. Prior use of workshop model and/or experience with engagement strategies a plus. Create an inclusive and positive classroom environment to promote learning. Develop and maintain outstanding communication with parents via individualized emails, newsletters, apps or blogs. Familiarity or willing to learn Google Education Apps. Efficiently share evaluations, grades and homework assignments with parents (when applicable). Actively engage students in learning by creating a learner-centered classroom. Use technology in class preparation and/or instruction, while not relying solely on it. Familiarity with AI in the classroom. Model intellectual curiosity and maintain open-mindedness about different cultures. Use positive reinforcement, manage classroom behaviors with systems and conflict resolution. Conduct classes and with integrity, and model appropriate behavior for students. Evaluate classwork and assessments regularly in a fair and equitable manner. Effectively report any student-related concerns and seek support from supervisor or designee. Actively supervise students in other roles such as recess, lunch, field trips, study hall, etc. Maintain current knowledge of innovative curriculum and instructional methods. Familiarity with EL, Fishtank Learning, and other ELA curricula is desirable. Pursue relevant opportunities for professional growth and development. Share talents and work
