The position:

Leads and develops a team of Middle Office Analysts (3–5 individuals) responsible for Position and Profit and Loss (PnL) reporting for the TGPNA Gas & LNG trading portfolio.Monitors and provides risk assessment, analytics, and controls for activities related to the TGPNA iGas trading business, which includes:Natural gas physical and financial trading, marketing, transportation, and storage.Marketing and sales of petcoke and sulfur produced by affiliates and third parties.Management of liquefaction terminal capacity, storage and transportation capacity, and Sales & Purchase Agreements within the Company’s North American LNG portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

Work closely with Front Office to support business growth by providing accurate assessments of the potential risk impact of transactions. Develop a strong understanding of market structure and key commercial strategies, and lead risk analyses that enable informed commercial decision‑making.Review transactions involving new commodities, delivery points, or risk‑management structures, considering liquidity, monitoring capabilities, and established new‑product approval guidelines.Provide direct supervision of Gas & LNG risk control analysts within the Middle Office. Manage staffing resources, oversee daily activities, and lead, coach, and develop analysts, including conducting performance evaluations.Collaborate with Operational Compliance, Operational Risk, Back Office, Finance, Credit, Legal, and Internal Control to ensure alignment of risk‑control practices with policies and limits. Partner with leadership to drive operational excellence and work with Trading Systems to enhance trading software capabilities.Monitor internal limits for Front Office activities and ensure compliance and proper documentation. Analyze non‑standard transaction requests and advise senior management on required approvals.Develop and implement Middle Office risk policies, procedures, and initiatives to support business growth. Identify and implement process and control improvements to address risks or gaps, and ensure all regulatory risk‑control and reporting requirements are met.Serve as the primary liaison for trading inquiries. Assist traders in modeling complex transactions in BOOK to ensure proper risk management. Support team reporting needs and ensure reporting is accurate and current.Lead the Middle Office team in producing accurate, independent analysis, valuation, and daily reporting of risk positions and trading results. Ensure processes, procedures, and limits evolve with the business.Identify, document, and report operational risk incidents, including near‑miss and failure events. Encourage a culture of self‑monitoring and reflection on conditions that may contribute to errors.Collaborate with Middle Office teams in Geneva and Singapore as part of the Global Risk Control organization. Support global control processes and ensure consistency and accuracy across reporting and control frameworks.Serve as the team lead and North American Power subject‑matter expert while working closely with Middle Office teams covering Natural Gas, LNG, Dry Bulks, and other commodities.Report trading results and positions to senior management and other stakeholders, highlighting current and emerging risk exposures and the potential implications of business decisions and scenarios. Assist Front Office in evaluating the risk profile of transactions.Manage upgrades, maintenance, and integration projects for risk‑management and operational IT systems. Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure system readiness and safeguard trading systems and sensitive data against cyber threats and data breaches.

Accountabilities:

Responsible for TGPNA iGas trading risk position and P&L reporting, ensuring Gas & LNG trading activities are fully and accurately captured, modeled, valued, and reported.Lead effective risk analysis that supports informed commercial decision‑making and implementation, and clearly communicate key risk considerations to senior management.Provide risk analytics support, including Value‑at‑Risk (VaR), Max Loss, and other relevant metrics.Deliver meaningful risk insights and updates to the TGPNA Head of Trading Support and the TGP Middle Office Manager.Oversee all TGPNA Middle Office control activities and report control issues with transparency.Ensure compliance with all trading limits and maintain control processes, procedures, and limits that evolve with the business.Verify the accuracy and completeness of reports and controls required for internal and regulatory obligations.Manage day‑to‑day Middle Office staffing and departmental activities, conduct performance appraisals, and coach and develop analysts to support role effectiveness and career growth.Contribute directly to the optimization and enhancement of Middle Office procedures and processes.Ensure adherence to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Integrity standards. Candidate Profile Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, mathematics, economics, or a business‑related field (required).Master’s degree and/or professional certification in a related discipline (preferred).Strong understanding of the energy industry, commodity trading, macroeconomics, risk analysis, and modern finance.8–10 years of experience in a mid‑office commodity trading organization or on a commodity trading team; prior supervisory or management experience required.Experience with North American natural gas and LNG markets, including familiarity with natural gas transportation and storage, financial and physical trading, and an understanding of dry commodity trading.High level of analytical and technical proficiency.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
