About the Role
An established UK-regulated financial institution is seeking a Middle Office Analyst to join its Operations function.
This role sits between the Front Office and Back Office, providing independent control, trade lifecycle oversight, and operational risk support across a range of banking products.
The position plays a critical role in maintaining a strong control environment, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting efficient day-to-day operations within a structured banking framework
Key Responsibilities
Control & Risk Management
Perform control assurance testing and support operational risk monitoring Identify, document, and escalate operational risks and control weaknesses Maintain risk logs and support internal governance reportingTrade Lifecycle Management
Monitor and manage trade lifecycle from booking through to settlement Validate and process non-STP trades across asset classes (FX, fixed income, money markets, loans) Resolve trade discrepancies in coordination with internal and external stakeholdersReconciliation & Settlements
Perform daily Nostro reconciliations and investigate breaks Manage bond, coupon and principal settlements Conduct past due reconciliations and follow up on outstanding itemsFX & Data Maintenance
Maintain daily FX rate updates and ensure consistency across systems Ensure accuracy and integrity of trade and financial dataLoan & Transaction Monitoring
Support monitoring and processing of term loans and related transactions Track covenant compliance and escalate any breachesStatic Data & Access Control
Manage system access and static data updates in line with internal controls Ensure compliance with segregation of duties and audit requirementsReporting & Governance
Prepare management information and operational reports Support regulatory and financial reporting where required Maintain documentation aligned with audit and regulatory standardsProcess Improvement
Identify inefficiencies and support process enhancements Maintain and update operational procedures and documentationSkills & Experience Experience in middle office, operations, or trade support within a banking environment Strong understanding of trade lifecycle, settlements, and reconciliation processes Knowledge of operational risk and control frameworks Familiarity with PRA, FCA and UK regulatory environment Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail Ability to work in a structured, control-driven environment
Qualifications Degree educated or equivalent experience Relevant professional qualification (desirable but not essential)
