Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a creative, highly talented Software Developer based out of our Raleigh, NC office, with the option to be remote. The successful candidate will utilize their design and development skills to deliver products that are high quality, on time and within budget. The developer will participate in the design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, and deployment of new software applications and will maintain and improve legacy software. The candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient algorithms that will leverage spatial and non-spatial data querying and processing. The candidate will work closely with technical and business staff to develop solutions. The ability of the candidate to learn topics in water resources engineering and flood mitigation will be needed. Due to the varying nature of our projects, our technology staff grow their skills rapidly since each solution requires new approaches and technology components. This is an exciting opportunity to join an accomplished team and work on a variety of exciting and innovative projects for our various clients. The typical responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Support current software applications and take the lead in new application initiatives.Translate detailed specifications into production-ready code, delivering leading edge geospatial solutions to our clients through desktop and cloud software applications.Engage in the analysis of business and system requirements to gain a deep understanding of organizational needs, driving the development and delivery of effective software solutions.Evaluate the performance and efficiency of existing systems, identifying opportunities to enhance or optimize them through innovative technologies and strategic approaches.Design and implement automated unit and functional tests to ensure software reliability and performance.Produce technical documentation that accurately and thoroughly depicts the software design and code base, to support QA testing and production support activitiesQualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS degree in Computer Science or related area from an accredited university4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationSolid understanding of object-oriented programming conceptsExperience using programming languages C#, C++ or CExperience with relational databases, such as SQL ServerExperience with source control software such as Git or Azure DevOpsDue to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is requiredPreferred Qualifications:
