Mid-Level Construction Field Engineer

Jacobs is seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level Construction Field Engineer to support a complex wastewater construction program. This role involves active participation in field operations, focusing on excavation and processing of contaminated materials.
As a Construction Field Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Construction Manager, Inspectors, Site Safety Manager, fellow Field Engineers, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution of construction activities. You will be responsible for maintaining adherence to project plans, specifications, and standard operating procedures, while promoting continuous improvement in field operations.
Key responsibilities include
* Monitoring and supporting daily construction activities and contractor performance.
* Maintaining open communication with the Construction Manager and Field Engineers, acting as a field liaison to ensure work is executed according to plan.
* Adapting quickly to changing site conditions and construction priorities.
* Supporting implementation of site-specific health, safety, and environmental (HSE) plans.
* Providing leadership and visible support to stakeholders during high-risk construction activities.
* Documenting field activities through logbooks, photo logs, and daily construction reports.
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
* 3+ years of demonstrated construction experience, including subcontractor management—preferably within environmental remediation projects.
* Familiarity with field documentation practices, including logbooks and photo logs.
* Proficiency in eBuilder or other web-based CM tool, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
* Strong interpersonal and personnel management skills.
* Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift approximately 40 pounds.
* Schedule flexibility to adapt to dynamic field conditions.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to meet Jacobs’ Permit to Drive requirements.
