Microsoft Systems Engineer
Job Description We are seeking a highly motivated and technically proficient Windows Engineer to join our team and play a key role in the maintenance, optimization, and security of our Windows infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of Windows operating systems, server administration, and automation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining Windows-based solutions, focusing on risk mitigation, compliance, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities & Function: Vulnerability Remediation / Patching: · Mitigate security risks by deploying Microsoft and third-party patches using Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM), Intune, and Third-Party Software Updates Catalog. · Manually apply patches and perform reboots on endpoints using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) to address critical risks or troubleshoot issues. · Utilize Configuration Manager (CM) for system and application configuration, including deployments, updates, and monitoring. · Utilize Intune for device management and security policy enforcement. · Employ Winget for automated application deployment and patching. · Develop and implement automation scripts and workflows to streamline operational tasks. · Implement and maintain Active Directory Group Policy for security enforcement and configuration. · Utilize configuration management tools (like CM) to automate policy deployment and configuration changes. · Develop and implement security best practices, including vulnerability management, incident response, and threat hunting. · Leverage RDP for manual patching and reboot procedures to eliminate risks. · Manage and apply Windows patches and updates, ensuring compliance with security policies and industry standards. · Implement and maintain security controls using Intune and third-party software updates. · Utilize scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for system administration tasks. · Provide technical support and troubleshooting for Windows systems and applications. · Identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively. Collaboration and Communication: · Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application development, operations, and security to ensure seamless integration and operation of cloud systems.
