Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Microbiology Lab Technician to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will perform basic laboratory preparation work and contribute to a variety of microbiological tests. This role offers the opportunity to grow within a state-of-the-art Innovation Center.
Responsibilities
Perform basic laboratory preparation work including making solutions of peptone and buffers for swabs.Engage in plating and streaking techniques.Pick up supplies and samples from the plant as needed.Conduct various tests, such as pipetting, preparing agar with hot plates, autoclaving, sterilization, sanitation, and conducting plate counts for yeast, mold, and lactic bacteria.Enter data accurately into Excel.Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related science field.Understanding of aseptic techniques and plating and streaking methods.Proficiency in microbiological skills gained through education or industry experience.Capability to perform Petri film plating and use autoclaves.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in a laboratory setting with skills in pH and viscosity measurement.Familiarity with the roles and responsibilities of a lab technician.Work Environment
The position is based in a small microbiology lab with limited desk spaces, working closely with a team of three. The work schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, and the dress code is business casual. The Innovation Center offers a beautiful and state-of-the-art environment with opportunities for long-term career growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00/hr.
