\n\nTheMaterial Handling Technicianisresponsible for overseeing the safe operation, daily monitoring, and maintenance activities associated with Material Handling Equipment (MHE), and maintenance of industrial automated conveyor belt system
\n\nKey Responsibilities:
\n\n\n\n\n\tDemonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements\n\tProficient in electrical meter testing\n\tKnowledge of controls and electric (AC - alternative current & DC - direct current low voltage)\n\tUnderstanding and working knowledge of PLC's (programming logic controller) and PLC troubleshooting\n\tMotors and Motor starter knowledge (AC & DC)\n\tMotor starter knowledge\n\tContactor and relay knowledge and repair\n\tComplete electrical repairs and welding projects as needed.\n\tMaintain power material handling equipment (MHE). Including preventive maintenance (PM) of MHE, checking, draining and filling oil levels as needed, checking, adjusting, or replacing all belts and chains as needed, checking and troubleshooting electrical controls issues, replacing motors and controls, safety checks, PM per manufacturers recommendations\n\tKnowledge of hydraulic systems/schematics/components, electrical systems/schematics both AC and DC systems, drive motors, power amps, electrical controls including PLC systems\n\tKnowledge of mechanical systems including transmissions, drive units, differentials systems.\n\tCompletes all special projects associated with building or grounds, as requested. Includes but not limited to moving furniture or fixtures, changing lights, light carpentry, painting, light plumbing, changing of light bulbs, repair of minor electrical devices.\n\tParticipate in departmental on-call program, as designated\n\tResponsible for logging time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) on a daily basis in the form of work orders, P.M.s, etc.\n\tResponsible for housekeeping, clean-up of all maintenance areas/work areas on a daily basis.\n\tMaintain all tools and equipment in clean, safe, working order.\n\tAdhere to all safety requirements and wear the proper Personal Protective Equipment required by the job.\n\tKnowledge of metal(s)welding, fabricating metal parts, bumpers, guards, etc. \n\tKnowledge of mending conveyor belts, replacing torn belts, replacing drives for belts, etc.\n\tKnowledge of changing, adjusting sensors, photo eyes, and all electrical components of automated systems, i.e. Buemer, Simens, MHS, Data-logic, etc. \n\tRespond to emergency situations to ensure employee and facility safety\n\tChampion overall safety in the department\n\tComply with OSHA, and other local, state and federal regulations\n\tAdhere to Organization and the Facilities Department policies and procedures including appropriate attire, grooming, and attendance\n\tInteract effectively, build relationships, and demonstrate a high level of cooperation\n\tTrain and mentor MHE Tech I and II\nSkills & Qualifications:
\n\n\n\tWill be required to wear 100% all cotton uniforms (part of the arc flash protection gear) at all times.\n\tWill be required to wear safety toe boots at all times.\n\tWill be required to wear all associated PPE as needed.\n\tRequired to supply a small pre-determined list of personal hand tools.\n\tSpecific skills pertaining to metal fabrication, welding, torches, rigging, etc…is a plus.\n\tMust be able to climb stairs and ladders, frequently at times.\n\tMust be able to lift up to 70lbs regularly.\n\tMust be able to work in hot and cold environments to include inclement weather.\n\tMust be able to stand for long durations.\n\tMust be able to work in/on elevated equipment (should not have a fear of heights).\n\tWill be required to wear all associated PPE as needed.\n\tRequired to supply a small pre-determined list of personal hand tools.\n\tSpecific skills pertaining to metal fabrication, welding, torches, rigging, etc…is a plus.\n\tMust be able to climb stairs and ladders, frequently at times.\n\tMust be able to lift up to 70lbs regularly.\n\tMust be able to work in hot and cold environments to include inclement weather.\n\tMust be able to stand for long durations.\n\tMust be able to work in/on elevated equipment (should not have a fear of heights).\n\n\nRequired Language: English – Fluency reading, speaking, and comprehension. Mandatory compliance tests will be given in English. All tests must be passed in order to be eligible for this position.
