Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital Department: Imaging Position is located: Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital Work Type: Full Time Hours Per Week: 40 Hours per Week Work Schedule: Variable Summary: Contribute to the long-term growth and viability of Northern Light Health; ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective patient care; ensure customer satisfaction and effectively manage human resources to achieve department objectives. Actively participates on hospital wide committees applicable to their department(s). Must possess visual acuity, hearing acuity, verbal skills, and command of the English language necessary to communicate with patients, families, physicians, external agencies and staff at all levels in the organization. Must possess manual dexterity necessary for administrative tasks such as preparing reports and departmental budgets and managing quality improvement plan. Ability to communicate in an effective and hospitable manner in person and by phone. Flexibility with work hours and activities in response to patient and the department needs. Ability to learn basic computer skills, to identify own learning needs, to work independently, to recognize need for assistance and seek it in a timely manner, to prioritize work responsibilities and work efficiently in in a dynamic and time sensitive environment. Ability to build supportive relationships with co-workers and evaluate and address performance of staff members. Ability to adapt to change and modify staff behaviors to meet all regulatory requirements, and to adjust staffing to workflow and acuity needs of the department to satisfy patient demand. Responsibilities: + Able to manage physician/provider needs to expedite patient care. + Ensures that scheduling of staff is completed timely, efficiently and meets the staffing requirements of the unit. + Recruiting and Retention of staff. + Counsels and disciplines staff and monitors corrective action/performance improvement when required. + Defines the qualifications and performance expectations for all staff positions. + Ensures the competence of all staff members is assessed, maintained demonstrated and continually improved. + Serves as a manager or working resource to all members of the health care team (e.g., In a urgent situation, cover a shift or fill-in when Staff is unable). + Actively works to creatively problem solve to meet service and program needs (patient, family, staff and physician, and other departments). + Operate Department in compliance with relevant policies and recognized industry lead practices. + Supports the mission and vision of Northern Light Health. + Achieve Revenue, expense, and productivity targets.
