OverviewThe Specialty Access Program Manager is responsible for leading operational performance, process optimization, and program execution within the Specialty department. This role drives strategic initiatives that improve patient access, enhance reimbursement outcomes, and ensure compliance across specialty workflows.
The Manager partners closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to analyze performance trends, identify operational gaps, and implement scalable solutions that improve efficiency, conversion, and overall patient experience.
Responsibilities Identifies operational gaps and develop strategic action plans to improve efficiency, compliance, and performance outcomesLeads the implementation of process enhancements across the Specialty Access teamDrives standardization of workflows and best practices throughout the Specialty departmentOversees escalation tracking and resolution, identifying systemic trends and opportunities for improvementConducts root cause analysis on recurring issues and implement sustainable corrective action plansAnalyzes data and performance trends to identify opportunities for optimization and growthMonitors key performance indicators (KPIs), including billing holds, turnaround times, conversion rates, and reimbursement outcomesDevelops and present performance insights and recommendations to senior leadershipSupports the development of dashboards, reporting tools, and performance tracking mechanismsSupports onboarding and training initiatives to ensure consistency and operational readiness across the teamAssists in developing and maintaining training materials, job aids, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)Promotes accountability, continuous improvement, and high-performance standards within the teamPartners with Revenue Cycle, Clinical, Compliance, IT, and Operations teams to ensure alignment and execution of specialty initiativesSupports enterprise initiatives that impact specialty access, reimbursement, and patient onboardingSupervisory Responsibility: Yes Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)RN preferred3–7 years of experience in specialty pharmacy, infusion services, revenue cycle, or healthcare operationsDemonstrated experience leading operational improvement initiatives and managing complex workflowsStrong understanding of specialty access, payer requirements, reimbursement processes, and compliance standardsStrong leadership and organizational skillsAdvanced analytical and critical thinking capabilitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, performance-driven environmentDetail-oriented with a proactive, solutions-focused mindsetHigh level of adaptability and accountabilityPercentage of Travel: 0-25%
**To perform this role will require frequently sitting, standing, walking, and typing on a keyboard with fingers, and occasionally bending, reaching and climbing (stairs/ladders). The physical requirements will be the ability to push/pull 1-10lbs and lift/carry 21-30 lbs**
