The Avionics Division of Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is looking for an EH&S Generalist for its Wilson, North Carolina location!  The successful candidate be able to work autonomously with little direct oversight to accomplish work tasks. This is an individual contributor role.

This role acts as a partner in EH&S by formulating and administering EH&S plans, procedures, and providing EH&S Program Management, has responsibility for multiple EH&S specialties, may perform tasks associated with Health/Safety and Environmental/Compliance, and coordinates with business partners for EH&S concerns regarding facilities and employee practices. Other responsibilities include organizing and maintaining EH&S policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations and will manage relationships across other functions and departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and RTX requirements.

This is an onsite role in Wilson, NC.   May be eligible for relocation benefits.

What You Will Do:

Responsibility for multiple EH&S programs and specialties at the site

Provides direct day to day support of business unit operations

Provides daily Tier 3 support and KPI generation

Collaborates with Operations and other Site Leadership to integrate EH&S performance into site business activities

Organize, maintain, & communicate EH&S policies to ensure compliance with Legal, RTX, & Collins rules and regulations

Support the programs, processes, and procedures to improve the EH&S culture for employees and contractors

Drives EH&S regulatory reporting requirements and recordkeeping activities. Responsible for appropriate procedures, approvals, coordination and control of EH&S Regulations applicable to the site

Analysis of leading and lagging performance indicators

Support the investigation, root cause determination, and development of corrective actions for incidents, both injury and environmental

Use the EH&S Smart reporting system to maintain EH&S compliance

Support the completion of audits & inspections and present findings at to the site EH&S Management Committee

Coordinates with business partners for EH&S the concerns

Perform various tasks associated with Safety, Health, Environment, Compliance, and Management Systems

Collaborate with site leadership to ensure the maintenance of the RTX EH&S Management System

Facilitate the development and completion of activities of various EH&S subcommittees

Support the development of a positive EH&S culture

Participate in site and business meetings to discuss EH&S performance and improvement plans

May develop materials, implement, and deliver various EH&S trainings as required by policy or regulation

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Proven EH&S experience

Qualifications We Prefer: 

Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, etc.

Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, AIHA, EPA, and DOT requirements

Experience with explosive safety programs

Experience with Industrial hygiene programs

Working knowledge of Environmental reporting programs

Prior experience in a manufacturing work setting.

Excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills.

Intermediate computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) are essential.

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
