The Quality Engineer ensure compliance with Parker's Quality management system and specific customer requirements through the management of assigned resources, design, implementation and monitoring of the necessary controls in manufacturing and continuous education of personnel to exceed the expectations of the customer to ensure the profitability of the organization.
+ Lead and support failure analysis and root cause investigations; develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
+ Address customer complaints by coordinating root cause analysis, implementing corrective/preventive actions, and communicating resolutions.
+ Create and maintain process control documentation such as work instructions, first article inspections, and inspection plans. Optimize quality controls within manufacturing processes.
+ Manage and resolve issues related to non-conforming materials, including internal rejections and supplier quality concerns.
+ Track and report internal metrics including but not limited to, Rejected Parts Per Million (RPPM), Quality Returns, and Scrap
+ Organize and lead Kaizen events focused on reducing RPPM, scrap and enhancing process control.
+ Ensure compliance with company policies and quality systems in accordance with IATF 16949 and Customer-Specific Requirements (CSRs).
+ Represent the company during internal and external audits, including follow-ups on findings and improvement opportunities. May act as the lead contact for audit-related activities.
+ Lead or support Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) submissions internally and with customers or suppliers.
+ Develop, implement, and maintain Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) documentation, including Process Flow Diagrams, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Control Plans.
+ Define and establish critical characteristics for gauging and data collection; monitor tolerance limits and initiate appropriate actions when out of control.
+ Coordinate activities and provide guidance to quality inspectors and technicians on the production floor.
+ Interpret and analyze customer engineering drawings and verify part conformity through measurement and inspection.
+ Monitor and manage engineering changes and their impact on processes and quality requirements.
+ Analyze quality data using statistical tools such as SPC, Pareto analysis, and trend charts to drive improvement.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, production, and supply chain teams on quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Train and mentor production and quality staff on customer communication, measurement techniques, procedures, and quality standards.
+ Lead and take part in High Performance Team Activity to drive change and build engagement.
+ Education: Engineering degree (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or related field)
+ IATF16949 Auditor
+ Knowledge of and ability to execute measurement systems analysis & variable data analysis
+ Experience: 3 years in automotive industry with a background in Quality
+ Experience in rubber industry preferred
+ Lean Manufacturing Knowledge
+ Knowledge of core tools: FMEA, Control Plan, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC
+ Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
+ Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
+ Experience with supplier quality, interfacing with customers, and internal/external audits
+ Desirable: Six Sigma Green/Blackbelt certification
+ Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
