Our Mission Solutions Business Area (MSBA) at Leidos is seeking a Machinist to support a government contract in the National Capital Region (NCR). The ideal candidate will be able to provide technical support to the customer's fabrication and manufacturing shops. The candidate must have demonstrated experience designing, programming, and manufacturing metal, plastic, and composite components.
This position works 100% in the office, there is no ability for remote or hybrid work and there may be some business travel (approximately 10% of the time).

In this role you will:
Design and machine custom pieces and parts Identify and implement strategic improvements and solutions that are in line with the customer’s vision and missionCreate and manage schedules for prioritized, approved work requirements Ensure industry and customer standards and best practices are followed for all requirements Provide detailed guidance on proper use, general machine maintenance, and minor repairs to shop equipmentOversee the management of consumables and procurement support Provide inputs on shop safety best practices and maintenance of the shop safety plan, to include application of OSHA standardsClearance Required:
Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain polygraph level clearanceRequired Experience, Skills, and Education:
Active TS/SCI with ability to obtain polygraph is required. Preference will be given to candidates who already hold TS/SCI with polygraph level clearance.Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in metal working discipline(s). Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.Demonstrated experience in mechanical skills instructionMachine Certification from an apprentice programDemonstrated CAD/CAM experienceDemonstrated ability to aid others in design and troubleshooting of mechanical component designsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple taskings and adapt quickly to changing requirementsDemonstrated experience working independently, as well as part of a team, including strong customer service and interpersonal skills Demonstrated experience and literacy with Microsoft Office suitePreferred Experience, Skills, and Education:

Pay Range:Pay Range $104,650.00 - $189,175.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
