Position Summary As a Merchandise Pricing Analyst, you’ll partner closely with Category Managers to provide pricing guidance and support across the entire pricing lifecycle from initial pricing to promotions and markdowns. You’ll leverage advanced analytics and pricing tools to evaluate market trends, optimize pricing strategies, and ensure alignment with company goals. Your insights will directly impact AutoZone’s competitive edge and financial performance. Key Responsibilities + Collaborate with Category Managers to provide data-backed pricing recommendations. + Analyze pricing data and develop scenarios using price optimization software. + Evaluate competitive and market data to align pricing strategies across store zones. + Develop tools and reports to communicate pricing trends and support decision-making. + Recommend pricing strategies that drive sales, profit, and market share. + Support seasonal and event pricing strategies and validate pricing tests. + Monitor and measure the success of pricing changes and promotional activities. Requirements + 1–3 years of experience in Business Administration, Price Optimization, Statistics, Engineering, or related fields. + Strong analytical skills with knowledge of linear regression, forecasting, and business modeling. + Familiarity with database structures and programming (SAS preferred). + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Requirements + Experience with price optimization tools and methodologies. + Understanding of microeconomics, statistical process control, and continuous improvement. + Demonstrated ability to influence business decisions through data insights. + Strong self-awareness and openness to feedback and development.
