Merchandising Manager, Retail

CertainTeed, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, is seeking a creative, analytical, and collaborative Retail Merchandising Manager to lead the development and execution of merchandising strategies across major home improvement retailers. This role is responsible for optimizing product presentation, assortment, and visibility—both in-store and online—to drive sales and enhance the customer experience. The Merchandising Manager works closely with Central Marketing partners to ensure seamless digital access to products and alignment across all customer touchpoints.
**Essential Functions:**
**Merchandising Strategy & Execution**
+ Develop and implement merchandising strategies that align with business goals and retailer expectations.
+ Lead the creation and execution of planograms (POGs), endcap displays, and promotional layouts across retail locations.
+ Ensure merchandising consistency across store formats, regions, and digital platforms.
**Digital Merchandising & Product Access**
+ Collaborate with Central Marketing partners to ensure accurate and timely digital product setup across retailer platforms.
+ Manage digital shelf content, including imagery, descriptions, specifications, and promotional messaging.
+ Support omnichannel merchandising efforts to ensure cohesive product representation online and in-store.
**Product Assortment & Optimization**
+ Analyze sales data, customer behavior, and market trends to optimize product assortments by region and store type.
+ Recommend SKU rationalization, product placement strategies, and inventory adjustments to improve performance.
+ Partner with Business Unit Advocates and National Account Managers to support product line reviews and category expansion.
**Cross-Functional Collaboration**
+ Work closely with marketing, supply chain, sales, and retail operations teams to ensure alignment on merchandising initiatives.
+ Support the execution of new product launches, resets, and seasonal transitions.
+ Participate in the development of Line Review presentations and collaborate on customer-facing merchandising strategies.
**Reporting & Performance Analysis**
+ Track and report on merchandising effectiveness using POS data, store audits, and customer feedback.
+ Contribute to monthly business reviews and scorecard reporting, connecting merchandising performance to long-range planning (LRP) goals.
+ Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in merchandising execution and customer engagement.
**Other Duties & Responsibilities:**
+ Demonstrate strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent relationship building skills.
+ This position requires a self-starting, highly motivated, individual who works well in a team environment.
+ Performs other duties as assigned or requested by management
+ Requires adaptability and methodical/analytical problem-solving skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Business, or a related field.
+ 5–7 years of experience in retail merchandising, category management, or visual merchandising.
+ Strong understanding of planogram development, product assortment planning, and retail execution.
+ Experience with digital merchandising platforms and e-commerce product setup.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with planogram software and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
+ Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
+ Ability to travel up to 30%.

Certain locations require pay information be provided in job postings. Saint-Gobain aims to deliver a comprehensive Total Rewards package to support our employees’ wellbeing and help improve daily life for themselves and their families. We believe in the importance of pay transparency in what we offer potential candidates. Provided is the national pay range for this position which is $102,000 to 158,000 per year. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 13% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The Total Target Cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $115,200 to $178,500 Bonus payments are part of variable compensation and by nature can vary based on company and individual performance and is not a guarantee.
