About the role

 

As a team member of Happy Beauty Co. this summer role will support the merchant organization in delivering sales and strategies for future growth and expansion.  This internship will provide exposure to multi-facets of retail, inclusive of the following:  product management, financials, marketing, pricing, visual impact, product development, sourcing, ecommerce and competitive assessment. This position will work directly with merchants and cross-functional teams as we deliver day-to-day actions while supporting analysis for go forward strategies.

This is a hybrid position requiring onsite work three days per week at the Support Center in Legacy West, Plano, TX.This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.Housing, relocation, and transportation assistance are not provided.Availability is required from June 1 through August 7, 2026, with a minimum commitment of 30 hours per week.

 

Primary Duties

Primary areas of influence: Category Management, Assessment, Product Merchandising, Presentation, Cross Collaboration, Communications with P & A, Vendors, Stores Organization, plus Competitive Superiority/Ecommerce Activation.

No day will ever be the same while working with Happy Beauty Co. and learning the function of a start-up business, the basics of buying and merchandising, while delivering sales and margin will drive the roles and duties of exposure.

This exposure is designed to provide understanding of the lifecycle of a product and will constitute both in-store experiences as well as on-line. Work will include set-up, regulatory, speed to market, education, presentation, delivery, replenishment, assessment of performance and disposition. 

Touches will include sales reporting, developing opportunities for growth, pivots if performance is not as expected, building of best practices to ensure POG governance, enforcing presentation standards, and comp shopping. 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

Currently in business or merchandising undergraduate program (close to graduation preferred)

Available to work full 10-wk program with min of 30 hours a week

Understanding of basic retail math, enjoys analysis and critical thinking

Basic Excel competency from vlook-up to pivot tables. Microsoft experience and comfort with use of Email, Teams, Word, Power Point etc. JDA/Tableau exposure a PLUS

Swift problem-solving skills and comfort with the daily potential to pivot based on business need.

Demonstrated time management with ability to prioritize and achieve deadlines.

 Working conditions & physical requirements

 

Location: Hybrid | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday at the Sally Beauty Support Center, Legacy West (Plano, TX); Remote Thursday or Friday

 

In office Mandatory 3 days a week (Monday -Wed) with WFH (Thur-Fri). Working environment: office majority of day sitting/standing at desk or in meetings.  However, 1 day a week may entail physical exertion of moving shelves, lifting boxes and merchandising product <25lbs in showroom or in store

The typical working environment is in the support center office, and the work is sedentary. Typically, the associate may sit comfortably to do the job. However, some tasks and activities may be walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, files, books, and small parts, driving an automobile to a store location, etc. These activities are not frequent and do not require significant physical demands to perform the work.

While involving everyday risks or discomforts, the work environment is designed with standard safety precautions. These precautions, typical of offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, residences, or commercial vehicles, include using safe work practices with office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, ensuring the safety and comfort of our associates.
