MERCHANDISE INVENTORY AUDITOR
Description We are looking for a Merchandise Inventory Auditor to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This position is integral to ensuring inventory accuracy across store locations by conducting detailed audits, analyzing data, and supporting operational improvements. As part of this role, you will collaborate with store teams to identify discrepancies and implement solutions that enhance inventory management practices. Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive physical audits of store inventory, including merchandise, lottery tickets, and cigarettes, to ensure accuracy and compliance. • Reconcile audit findings, identify discrepancies, and prepare detailed reports on inventory data. • Investigate discrepancies in inventory records and perform manual adjustments as needed to maintain accurate reporting. • Support store teams with inventory-related training and provide operational assistance when necessary. • Prepare for audits by reviewing historical data and collaborating with store leadership to set expectations. • Maintain detailed records of audit results, inventory adjustments, and other relevant documentation. • Participate in special projects focused on process improvement and asset protection. • Communicate audit findings, trends, and recommendations effectively to store teams and company leadership. • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during all inventory audits and related activities. Requirements • Minimum of 1 year of experience in inventory auditing or a related field. • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and reconcile discrepancies. • Proficiency in manual data entry and ability to manage inventory reports effectively. • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with store teams and leadership. • Ability to conduct physical audits and handle merchandise inventory. • Familiarity with inventory management practices and compliance standards. • Problem-solving skills to address root causes of inventory discrepancies. • Availability to work on a long-term contract basis in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
