MERA Commercial Lead

Locaiton: MERA (outside UAE & Saudi) /Spain /Turkey

ROLE PURPOSE

MERA Commercial Lead is a key member of the MERA Regional Leadership Team, and reports to the MERA Regional President. This role is responsible for leading a diverse regional organization with the mission to:

Support the development and implementation of regional strategies, along with the identification, assessment, and realization of enhanced and/or innovative commercial opportunities all designed to maximize the performance of MERA and optimize the go-to-market models.Enhance, develop, and enable deployment of essential commercial capabilities aligned to support the strategies and performance of MERA.Develop robust business strategies in partnership with the EM CO, Global and Regional COEs and MERA country leadership.Partner with and support markets by leveraging deeper capability and expertise from the regional commercial organization

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Apply deep, broad expertise of our portfolio, market dynamics, and innovative customer approaches to support go-to-market strategies to maximize regional performance and overall value to the businessProvide insights to EM CO, to ensure the cross-region marketing strategy development.  Work with global marketing to align regional and local strategy to the global brand strategies.Provide direction to regional and country teams and ensure product strategies and tactics are strategically aligned, have high impact and manage the trade-offs in order to maximize return of investmentInvestigate environmental drivers to identify growth opportunities while ensuring right prioritization of resources and efforts across countries and brandsPartner with and provide guidance to the clusters and markets for the development of operating plansEvaluate optimization metrics on market model, mix, execution and gapsEnsures high standards and continuous evolution of commercial capabilities development and deploymentPartners with stakeholders across all parts of the organization to deliver optimal value for the business.  Focus on strategic business partners including Medical and Pfizer Global SupplyLead regional commercial team in attracting, and developing key talent to ensure leading-edge capability in the organization and to grow leaders

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in science or business administrationMBA or equivalent education/experience strongly preferredMinimum of 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical industryExpansive Commercial experience with having had direct responsibility in the past for some or all of the following key commercial areas: Tenders Management, Retail Channel, Key Account Management, Portfolio ManagementExperience and proven success leading in a matrixed, cross-geographic, multi-cultural environment; Strong preference for experience/results in countries in the regionProven ability to operate in a matrix environment and lead changeProven ability to facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders; building internal and external relationships through partnering & anticipating needsSuccessful track record of people management/development essential; leading teams of deep, varied commercial capabilityBroad exposure to markets in different stages of development and with different market archetypes
