MEP Estimator
Job Title: MEP Estimator Job Description As an MEP Estimator, you will lead the development of detailed MEP estimates for large-scale commercial, institutional, and mixed-use projects across various regions. You will analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns and evaluate subcontractor bids to ensure alignment with project requirements. Additionally, you will collaborate with design teams to identify value engineering opportunities and constructability solutions, while participating in preconstruction meetings and presentations with clients, architects, and internal stakeholders. Responsibilities + Lead the development of detailed MEP estimates for large-scale projects. + Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost breakdowns. + Evaluate subcontractor bids and perform scope reviews to ensure project alignment. + Collaborate with design teams to identify value engineering opportunities and constructability solutions. + Participate in preconstruction meetings and presentations with clients, architects, and internal stakeholders. + Maintain and update historical cost data, unit pricing, and benchmarking tools. + Stay current on regional market trends, labor rates, and material costs. + Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and tools. Essential Skills + Minimum of 8 years of experience as an MEP Estimator. + Strong understanding of MEP systems. + Proven ability to develop and manage cost plans and estimates. + Experience advising clients on cost strategies and market conditions. + Excellent communication and collaboration skills. + Ability to work on-site in the New York City / Boston Office. + Proficiency in bidding, blueprint reading, and construction management. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail. + Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. + Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Trimble, Bluebeam, CostX, or similar). + Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment The work environment is based in the NYC office, operating from Monday to Friday.
