MEP Design Engineer, Global Engineering Services
We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Design Engineer/Manager to spearhead the design and engineering of comprehensive Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use development projects. This strategic role emphasizes design leadership, technical excellence, cross-disciplinary coordination, and delivery of world-class engineering solutions across HVAC, Plumbing & Hydraulic Engineering, Fire Protection, Electrical, and Extra Low Voltage systems.

Key job responsibilities
Design Leadership & Engineering Excellence
• Lead end-to-end MEP design development from conceptual design through detailed engineering and construction documentation phases
• Develop, review, and approve MEPF design drawings, technical specifications, and comprehensive engineering documentation
• Perform advanced load calculations, equipment sizing, and system optimization for all MEP disciplines
• Create single-line diagrams, schematic layouts, riser diagrams, and detailed construction drawings
• Execute design calculations for HVAC thermal loads, plumbing fixture demands, electrical power requirements, and fire protection hydraulics
• Champion design optimization strategies focused on energy efficiency, operational excellence, and sustainability
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in design best practices and technical standards
HVAC System Design
• Design comprehensive heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems including central chiller plants, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), and VRV/VRF systems
• Conduct psychrometric analysis, heat load modeling, and duct/pipe sizing calculations using industry-standard software
• Develop air distribution systems with optimized ductwork layouts, diffuser selections, and VAV/CAV terminal units
• Design control sequences and seamless integration with Building Management Systems (BMS) and Building Automation Systems (BAS)
• Ensure compliance with ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 62.1, ISHRAE guidelines, and thermal comfort requirements
• Evaluate and implement advanced HVAC technologies including heat recovery systems, demand-controlled ventilation, and energy recovery ventilators
Plumbing & Hydraulic Engineering (PHE) Design
• Design comprehensive water supply systems including domestic cold water, hot water distribution, and irrigation networks
• Develop drainage, sanitary, and sewage systems with proper pipe sizing, slope calculations, and venting strategies
• Design water treatment plants, sewage treatment plants (STP), effluent treatment plants (ETP), and pumping systems
• Prepare detailed hydraulic calculations, pump selection criteria, and system head loss analysis
• Design rainwater harvesting systems, greywater recycling infrastructure, and water conservation measures
• Ensure compliance with IPC, UPC, and relevant Indian Standards for plumbing systems
Fire Protection & Life Safety System Design
• Design fire sprinkler systems (wet pipe, dry pipe, pre-action, deluge) per NFPA 13, NFPA 13R, and IS:15325 standards
• Develop comprehensive fire alarm and detection system layouts compliant with NFPA 72 and IS 2189
• Design fire hydrant systems, hose reel networks, and fire pump installations with complete hydraulic calculations
• Prepare fire pump room layouts, equipment specifications, and control sequences per NFPA 20 requirements
• Coordinate smoke control systems, pressurization systems, and emergency egress lighting
• Ensure full compliance with NFPA standards, Indian Standards (IS codes), NBC requirements, and local fire authority regulations
• Conduct fire safety risk assessments and coordinate with fire consultants and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ)
Electrical System Design
• Design power distribution systems including HV/MV/LV infrastructure, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and distribution panels
• Develop comprehensive lighting design with lux level calculations, energy-efficient LED solutions, and daylight integration
• Design emergency and standby power systems including diesel generator (DG) sets, UPS systems, battery backup, and automatic transfer switches
• Prepare single-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable schedules, and short circuit analysis
• Design earthing systems, lightning protection systems, and electrical safety infrastructure per IS:3043 and IEC standards
• Ensure compliance with NEC, IEC 60364, IS:732, and local electrical codes
• Perform load flow analysis, voltage drop calculations, and power factor correction studies
Extra Low Voltage (ELV) & Smart Building Systems Design
• Design Building Management Systems (BMS/IBMS) architecture with comprehensive system integration strategies
• Develop access control systems, CCTV surveillance networks, and intrusion detection systems
• Design integrated fire alarm systems with building-wide emergency communication
• Plan structured cabling infrastructure, fiber optic networks, and communication backbone systems
• Design public address systems, intercom networks, audio-visual systems, and digital signage
• Coordinate smart building technologies, IoT integration, and intelligent building automation
• Design parking guidance systems, vehicle access control, and building security infrastructure


A day in the life
Technical Coordination & Documentation
• Lead MEP design coordination with architectural, structural, and civil engineering disciplines
• Perform 3D clash detection and resolution using BIM tools (Revit MEP, Navisworks, BIM 360)
• Prepare design basis reports, technical specifications, equipment data sheets, and operation & maintenance manuals
• Review and approve consultant, vendor, and contractor shop drawings for design compliance
• Prepare material take-offs, bill of quantities (BOQ), and cost estimates for MEP systems
• Maintain comprehensive design documentation, revision control, and as-built drawing management
• Conduct design reviews, value engineering studies, and constructability assessments
