The CAD Engineer / Database Administrator will provide comprehensive design, drafting, and data management support for the clients headquarters and the broader US portfolio. This role requires an advanced understanding of all building trades and systems, not limited to floor plans but encompassing mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), clean room specifications, and facility infrastructure documentation
The position consolidates responsibilities previously managed by two specialists—a designer and a mechanical designer—into a single, highly proficient technical professional The ideal candidate will demonstrate expert-level proficiency in CAD software (BricsCAD and AutoCAD 2023), database administration for the Yorktown facility, and the ability to collaborate effectively with in-house tradespeople including electricians, mechanics, and mechanical staff.
What your day-to-day will look like:CAD Drawing Production & Management (Multi-Trade Focus)
Develop and maintain accurate CAD drawings including floor plans, space plans, furniture layouts, and comprehensive as-built documentation for headquarters and US portfolio locationsProduce and update mechanical, electrical, and piping (MEP) drawings, upgrading existing drawings from IFC (Issued for Construction) status to master drawing setsCreate and maintain clean room layout designs, including detailed specifications on tooling and equipment within designated building areas for the MRL (Materials Research Laboratory) departmentEnsure all drawings comply with JLL standards, client specifications, and industry best practices across all building tradesUpdate existing CAD files to reflect building modifications, moves, adds, changes, and renovations across all systems (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing)Maintain organized CAD file management systems and drawing librariesDatabase Administration (Yorktown Facility)
Serve as the primary Database Administrator for the clients Yorktown facility, managing multiple critical data systemsMaintain and update databases including: Asbestos dataDrawing data and version controlProject history dataExhaust balance dataFire and smoke detector databases for in-house operationsSpecification data archives[Source: CAD Engineer (003).docx]Conduct research and retrieval operations to locate information supporting equipment replacement and system restoration projectsEnsure data integrity, accuracy, and accessibility for engineering and facilities management teamsSpace Planning & Workplace Support
Create space utilization plans and workplace layouts that support client objectives and workplace strategiesCollaborate with workplace strategists, project managers, and facility managers to translate conceptual designs into technical drawingsConduct field measurements and site surveys to verify existing conditions and ensure drawing accuracy across all building systemsSupport stack planning, test fits, and feasibility studies as requiredDesign in-house clean room layouts with full understanding of environmental controls and specialized equipment requirementsProject Coordination & Multi-Trade Collaboration
Work closely with project teams, architects, engineers, vendors, and in-house tradespeople (electricians, mechanics, mechanical staff) to coordinate design documentationProvide technical assistance to in-house trades to support their fieldwork and project executionAttend project meetings and site walks to gather information and clarify project requirements across all building systemsProvide technical support during project planning, design development, and construction phasesCoordinate with multiple stakeholders across the US portfolio (GRE – all US sites) to prioritize and manage workload effectivelyAs-Built Documentation & Estimation
Produce comprehensive MEP as-built drawings for clients headquarters and other US sitesPrepare detailed estimates for as-built documentation work to facilitate approval processes and project budgetingCollaborate with occupancy planning groups to ensure accurate documentation of existing conditionsEquipment & Document Management
Serve as the Plotter and Flat File Drawing Owner, maintaining all plotting equipment and flat file storage systems in working conditionEnsure proper maintenance, calibration, and functionality of all drawing reproduction equipmentManage physical and digital drawing archives with appropriate version control and retrieval systemsQuality Control & Documentation
Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards before distributionMaintain revision control and ensure proper documentation of all changes across architectural and MEP drawingsCreate and update CAD standards, templates, and layer conventionsGenerate reports, schedules, and documentation to support facility management operationsPortfolio Support & Flexibility
Provide AutoCAD and technical support to other US portfolio locations on an as-needed basisAdapt to varying project types, timelines, and client requirements across multiple locationsMaintain consistent communication with portfolio stakeholders regarding project status and deliverablesRequired Skills and Qualifications:Education & Experience
Associate degree in CAD Technology, Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, or related field, or equivalent work experienceMinimum 3-5 years of professional experience producing AutoCAD drawings in commercial real estate, corporate facilities, architecture, or related industryRequired: Demonstrated knowledge of all building trades and systems (architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, HVAC)Experience supporting corporate campuses, research facilities, or large portfolio environments preferredBackground in clean room design, laboratory environments, or specialized industrial facilities strongly preferredTechnical Skills
Expert proficiency in BricsCAD and AutoCAD 2023 (2D required; 3D knowledge a plus)Knowledge of networking, computer equipment, and peripheral equipmentDatabase administration experience, including data management, version control, and information retrieval systemsStrong understanding of MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) systems, building codes, and space planning principlesAbility to read and interpret construction documents, specifications, and technical drawings across all building disciplinesExperience with clean room specifications, tooling documentation, and specialized equipment layoutsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Experience with additional design software such as Revit, SketchUp, or Adobe Creative Suite is beneficialFamiliarity with facility management systems or IWMS platforms (e.g., Archibus, SpaceIQ) is a plusAbility to prepare cost estimates for as-built and documentation projectsProfessional Competencies

Estimated compensation for this position:
110,000.00 – 135,000.00 USD per yearThis range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
