At work in over 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities to restore safety, dignity and hope, the IRC leads the way from harm to home. ABOUT THE JOB: The Mental Health Resource Guide Intern will support the IRC-LA team in developing, updating, and organizing a comprehensive, user-friendly guide to local mental health services and support resources. This role is ideal for students or emerging professionals interested in mental health, public health, social work, or community advocacy. The intern will work closely with IRC staff and external providers to ensure the guide is accurate, culturally responsive, and accessible to the diverse communities served by the IRC. The final product will serve as a key tool for IRC clients and staff across multiple programs. LEARNING OUTCOMES: Develop skills in information curation, accessibility, and trauma-informed communication Learn how nonprofits collaborate with community partners and direct service providers Deepen understanding of culturally responsive care in refugee and immigrant communities RESPONSIBILITIES: Research and compile relevant mental health services across Los Angeles and surrounding areas Ensure all entries include accurate contact information, service descriptions, languages offered, eligibility criteria, and cost/accessibility info Collaborate with staff, community partners, and service providers to gather new or updated resource data Organize content in a digital, searchable format suitable for internal and client-facing use Assist in promoting the guide internally across IRC departments REQUIREMENTS: Interest in mental health, public health, social work, or community-based services Strong research and writing skills High attention to detail and strong organizational habits Able to work independently and take initiative Experience working with immigrant or refugee communities a plus Familiarity with health literacy and/or trauma-informed practices is a plus Our Hiring Process: Attend an info session to learn more about this opportunity.
