Melt Analyst

Preferred Qualifications/skills

Working knowledge of SAP to look up production order/heat information. Ability to handle the walking, lifting, bending, stair climbing, and stooping required to perform the job. Possess a high degree of initiative and be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision. Sound planning and organizational skills.  

Working Conditions

Work is normally performed in a shared work environment, divided between the shop floor and an office workspace.

This position also requires light physical activity, such as walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time, as well as occasionally engaging in all motions necessary to inspect equipment, which may entail some lifting.

​Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position. This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.

Primary Purpose of Job / Key Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Formulation Manager, this position requires someone with strong communication skills and a keen willingness to learn. The candidate must also have demonstrated professionalism and tact in communications with a diversity of individuals. Strong organizational and time management skills, acute attention to detail and ability to work well with others is required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Monitoring and tracking process and product control parameters to validate process reliability and capability. Participating in real-time process management support for daily, weekly, monthly reporting. Assist with continuous improvement, 5S and TPM as needed.  Ensure that no material is released for shipping until all records are legible, complete, and all required process steps have appropriate approvals.  All nonconforming material must not be released for shipment until nonconformance report is documented with the issue and the disposition for the material. Knowledge and understanding of Melt Specifications, Melt Rules and other requirements to determine material acceptability Visually inspect Titanium electrodes and ingots for nonconformities Review all records that are required to provide evidence of material conformance. Acquire missing or incomplete records prior to the release of product for shipping. Interpret melt charts to ensure that the melt parameters meet Melt Rule requirements for each Ingot. Identify melt nonconformances, communicate with the team, and document the nonconformance using the quality tracking program. Prepare documentation needed for the shipping department. Prepare and save electronic records for Niles team to review. Communicate shipping plans to the Canton and Niles teams . Manage and maintain heat folders to ensure that they are readily available for review upon request. All other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications/skills

Minimum of a high school diploma or a general education diploma (GED). Willingness to learn in a manufacturing environment. Strong computer and software skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Acrobat Professional Strong communication skills. Strong attention to detail, organizational, time management and follow-up skills.
