Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in assisting clients with outpatient psychiatry services. In this role, you will assist physicians and nursing staff with patient care, prepare patients for examinations, and perform essential lab services, including phlebotomy. Your contributions will help ensure that our clients receive the highest quality of care in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist physicians and nursing staff with patient carePrepare patients for examination and treatmentTake patient histories and vital signsPrepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instrumentsAdminister injections and perform lab testing and phlebotomyManage appointment scheduling, prior authorizations, and chart managementProvide information to patients to help them benefit from clinic servicesConduct health and medical reviews as instructed by leadershipCommunicate health concerns to the agency team and take appropriate actionMaintain a schedule of clients' doctor appointments and send reminders to staffPerform general lab and phlebotomy duties, communicating lab results to providers and nursing staffComplete documentation in a timely manner according to company policies and procedures

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent requiredGraduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program or Licensed Practical Nurse in applicable stateCPR certification preferredPhlebotomy training and previous lab experience preferredOne year of experience in a physician office setting preferred

Additional Qualifications:

Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insuranceSuccessful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint checkCompletion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employmentAll training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter

Physical Requirements:

ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up to 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Repetitive movements of hands, fingers, and arms for typing and/or writing during work shift.Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
