Our Hematology & Oncology Unit cares for patients receiving chemotherapy, blood products, and complex medical treatments. As a Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR), you are the central hub of communication for the unit—supporting nurses, providers, patients, and families to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations. What You'll Do • Serving as the primary point of contact for incoming calls, visitors, and interdepartmental communication • Supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges within the electronic medical record • Assisting nurses and providers with coordination of care and message routing • Maintaining accurate documentation, patient charts, and unit logs • Scheduling tests, procedures, and patient transport as requested • Ensuring workstations, supply areas, and communication tools remain organized and up to date • Supporting patient flow in a fast-paced, specialized care environment What We're Looking For + Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. + Experience: One year of experience in healthcare, preferred. + Licensure/certification/registration: NC state approved curricula for restrictive interventions (facility specific) within 3 months of hire for Emergency Departments and Behavioral Health units, required. + Additional skills preferred: Experience with answering multiple phone lines.
