 Under the direction of the POC Coordinator, this position monitors data from point-of-care testing to ensure that all program requirements are being met. This person also troubleshoots problems and assists in training medical staff that performs POC testing. Demonstrates and applies the theoretical concepts of clinical laboratory medicine using independent judgment. The POCTT follows laboratory guidelines, policies, and procedures as presented by the POCTC and laboratory blood bank supervisor.

  Hourly Pay Rate: $29.20 - $43.07   Qualifications Education: Requires an Associate's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences or a related field and graduation from an AMA-accredited school of Medical Technology, or an equivalent combination of training, education, or experience by the American Society Of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry. Experience: Must have a minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible Medical Technologist clinical laboratory experience that demonstrates a strong understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Certification/Licensure: Must be eligible to be certified by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or equivalent certification. Requires BLS. A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Requires knowledge of Medical Technology and the ability to work with nurses and other clinical personnel outside the laboratory. Must have highly developed communication, problem-solving, and people skills. This position requires a high level of independent action. Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
